Your day will involve a dynamic mix of field visits, strategic planning, and hands-on execution. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and maintain visual merchandising standards across designated retail outlets in Ngara, Nairobi, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and planograms.
  • Monitor stock levels, identify replenishment needs, and coordinate with store staff and distribution teams to prevent out-of-stock situations.
  • Implement promotional campaigns, set up point-of-sale (POS) materials, and ensure all marketing collateral is correctly displayed and up-to-date.
  • Conduct regular market visits to assess competitor activities, identify market trends, and provide actionable feedback to management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with store managers and retail staff to secure prime shelf space and promotional opportunities.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on merchandising activities, sales performance, and stock movement, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure product quality and presentation are consistently high, reporting any issues or damage promptly.
  • Provide training and guidance to store staff on product knowledge and merchandising best practices where necessary.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of merchandising strategies by sharing insights and innovative ideas.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Merchandiser or in a similar retail/sales role (minimum 2 years).
  • Exceptional visual merchandising skills with a strong aesthetic sense.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite, especially Excel).
  • A valid Kenyan driving license and ability to commute across Ngara and surrounding areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with retail analytics tools and inventory management systems.
  • Experience working with consumer goods or FMCG brands.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
