Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and analytical Monitoring & Evaluation Analyst with a strong focus on field data to join our growing team in Whitehall, Bristol. This pivotal role involves designing, implementing, and managing robust M&E systems to track the progress, performance, and impact of our diverse projects. You will be instrumental in developing methodologies for quantitative and qualitative data collection directly from the field, ensuring data integrity, and translating complex information into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and decision-makers.

You will be responsible for the entire data lifecycle, from tool development and field deployment to analysis and reporting. This includes conducting regular field visits to project sites, interacting with beneficiaries and project teams, and ensuring that our M&E frameworks are culturally sensitive and operationally effective. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) frameworks, including logic models, indicators, and data collection plans for various projects.
- Develop and refine data collection tools and methodologies (e.g., surveys, questionnaires, focus group discussion guides, key informant interview protocols) suitable for field use.
- Lead and conduct quantitative and qualitative field data collection activities, ensuring data quality, consistency, and ethical guidelines are strictly followed.
- Manage and maintain M&E databases, ensuring data is accurately entered, cleaned, and stored in compliance with organizational standards.
- Conduct rigorous data analysis using appropriate statistical and qualitative analysis software to identify trends, challenges, and successes.
- Prepare high-quality M&E reports, briefs, presentations, and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key findings and actionable recommendations.
- Support the capacity building of field staff on M&E concepts, data collection techniques, and reporting requirements.
- Contribute to program design, proposal development, and the integration of M&E best practices into all stages of project cycles.
- Participate in M&E team meetings, provide technical input, and collaborate with program teams to ensure M&E findings inform program adjustments and strategic planning.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in designing and implementing M&E systems and frameworks.
- Demonstrated expertise in quantitative and qualitative data collection methodologies and tools (e.g., KoBoToolbox, ODK, SurveyCTO).
- Proficiency in statistical software for data analysis (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata, advanced Excel).
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present findings clearly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel frequently for field visits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Statistics, Public Policy, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a Monitoring & Evaluation role, preferably in an international development or non-profit context.
- Experience with GIS tools and mapping for data visualization and analysis.
- Knowledge of specific thematic areas such as public health, education, humanitarian aid, or sustainable development.
- Familiarity with ethical considerations in research and data collection involving vulnerable populations.
