Job Description

Diamonds Mequfi Beach Resort, a luxurious haven nestled along the pristine shores of Mecufi in Cabo Delgado Province, is renowned not just for its breathtaking natural beauty and exceptional service but also for its deep appreciation and commitment to the rich cultural tapestry of Mozambique. We believe that an authentic travel experience is incomplete without a connection to the local heritage and stories. As part of our ongoing efforts to enrich guest experiences and support local cultural initiatives, we are establishing a dedicated cultural display area, showcasing the history, traditions, and natural wonders of Mecufi and the wider Cabo Delgado region. We are now seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Museum Guide Assistant to bring this vision to life and serve as an engaging ambassador of our local culture.

This unique full-time opportunity calls for an individual who is not only enthusiastic about history, art, and the natural environment but also possesses excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to share knowledge. The Museum Guide Assistant will play a crucial role in creating memorable and educational experiences for our diverse international and local guests. You will be responsible for guiding visitors through our cultural exhibits, providing insightful narratives about the artifacts, local customs, and the historical significance of the area. This role is far more than just recounting facts; it’s about weaving stories, answering curious questions, and fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the unique identity of Mecufi. You will interpret exhibitions, lead interactive tours, and assist in the development of engaging educational programs tailored to different age groups and interests. Furthermore, you will contribute to the general upkeep and presentation of the exhibit space, ensuring a welcoming and informative environment for all visitors. This position offers an incredible chance to be at the heart of cultural exchange, working in a stunning resort setting and making a tangible impact on our guests’ journeys while supporting the celebration of Mozambican heritage.

Beyond guided tours, the Museum Guide Assistant will also assist with researching and updating exhibit content, helping to ensure that our presentations remain accurate, compelling, and relevant. You will collaborate closely with the Resort Management, Marketing team, and potentially local community leaders or artisans to enhance our cultural offerings and promote sustainable tourism practices. This role demands a proactive individual who can work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability and a positive attitude in a dynamic resort environment. Your contributions will directly impact our guests’ satisfaction and the resort’s reputation as a destination that values and celebrates its surrounding culture. If you are eager to combine your passion for heritage with a career in luxury hospitality, and you thrive on creating meaningful connections through storytelling, we encourage you to apply and become a vital part of the Diamonds Mequfi Beach Resort family.
