As a Music Distribution Specialist, you will be the backbone of our operational flow, managing the entire lifecycle of music products from acquisition to delivery, across both physical and digital channels. Your responsibilities will span inventory management, order fulfillment, liaising with record labels, artists, and retail partners, as well as optimizing our distribution strategies. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring that our vinyl releases are accurately cataloged, stored, and shipped to independent record stores and direct-to-consumer customers worldwide, while also assisting in the coordination of digital releases across various streaming and download platforms.
This role requires a deep understanding of the music ecosystem, from physical supply chains to digital metadata best practices. You will track sales data, analyze market trends, and identify new opportunities for our distributed catalog. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the physical distribution of vinyl records and other merchandise to retailers and direct-to-consumer customers.
- Coordinate digital release schedules, metadata submission, and asset delivery to various streaming platforms and online stores.
- Oversee inventory management, including receiving, cataloging, storage, and order fulfillment processes.
- Liaise directly with independent record labels, artists, and retail partners to ensure smooth operations and strong relationships.
- Monitor sales data, analyze market trends, and provide insights to inform distribution strategies and identify new opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all industry standards for product tagging, packaging, and shipping.
- Handle customer service inquiries related to orders, shipping, and product availability.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and distribution agreements using relevant software.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in music distribution, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably within the independent music sector.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems and e-commerce platforms.
- Strong understanding of both physical (vinyl, CD) and digital (streaming, download) music distribution processes.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
