Job Description

A Music Editor at Career.zycto plays a pivotal role in shaping the auditory experience of our diverse content portfolio, ranging from captivating digital shorts and engaging podcasts to impactful documentaries and dynamic promotional campaigns. We are searching for an exceptionally talented, detail-oriented, and creatively driven Music Editor to join our vibrant team in Belconnen, Canberra. This full-time position demands more than just technical prowess; it requires a keen ear for nuance, a deep understanding of musical storytelling, and an intuitive ability to evoke emotion through sound. Proficiency in industry-standard audio editing software is a given, but your artistic vision will be what truly sets you apart.

You will be instrumental in the entire lifecycle of our projects’ soundscape: from conceptualizing musical themes to curating, editing, and seamlessly integrating musical scores, sound effects, and ambient audio that elevate our productions. Our ideal candidate possesses an innate ability to interpret complex creative briefs and translate abstract ideas into compelling sonic landscapes that resonate deeply with audiences. You will work in close collaboration with directors, producers, and the wider post-production team, ensuring that every piece of music meticulously serves the narrative, enhances emotional impact, and adheres rigorously to project timelines and technical specifications.

This role is not merely about technical execution; it’s about artistic contribution, innovative problem-solving, and a relentless pursuit of perfection in finding the perfect rhythm, harmony, and texture to complement visual and spoken content. Your daily tasks will include sourcing appropriate music tracks from our extensive library and external sources, meticulously editing them for timing, mood, and flow, mixing them expertly with dialogue and other audio elements, and ensuring seamless transitions that uphold the highest production standards. A solid grasp of copyright and licensing for music is also essential, along with the ability to manage music libraries and metadata efficiently and accurately. We value creativity, precision, a proactive approach to challenges, and a commitment to continuous learning. If you thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment where your passion for music directly influences the final product, Career.zycto offers a unique platform for your talent to shine. We are committed to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, providing our team members with opportunities for significant growth and professional development. Join us and help define the sonic identity of tomorrow’s groundbreaking media.
