Key Responsibilities

  • Curate, edit, and synchronize music scores and tracks to visual content (e.g., film, video, animations, podcasts) ensuring seamless integration and emotional resonance.
  • Collaborate closely with directors, producers, sound designers, and post-production teams to understand project vision and audio requirements.
  • Select appropriate music from libraries or commission new compositions, adhering to creative briefs and budgetary constraints.
  • Perform detailed audio editing, mixing, and mastering to achieve optimal sound quality and ensure all musical elements sit perfectly within the overall sound design.
  • Manage music licensing, clearances, and metadata, ensuring all legal requirements are met and documented.
  • Maintain meticulous organization of music assets, project files, and documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Provide creative input and solutions for challenging musical and audio post-production tasks, actively contributing to artistic decisions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices in music editing and sound design to continually enhance workflow and output.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Music Editor or similar role in film, television, gaming, or digital media.
  • Expert proficiency with industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, or Adobe Audition.
  • Strong understanding of music theory, composition, arrangement, and orchestration.
  • Excellent ear for timing, rhythm, and sonic detail with a keen ability to identify subtle nuances in audio.
  • Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into compelling musical narratives and emotional landscapes.
  • Deep knowledge of audio post-production workflows, signal processing, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with music licensing, copyright principles, and intellectual property management.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Production, Sound Design, Film Studies, or a related creative field.
  • Experience with orchestral score editing, tempo mapping, and advanced synchronization techniques.

  • Basic understanding of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve) to facilitate workflow.
  • Multilingual abilities, particularly proficiency in German, to better integrate with local teams and projects.
