Key Responsibilities
- Curate and select appropriate music for various projects (film, TV, advertising, digital content) based on creative briefs and client objectives.
- Negotiate and clear music rights (master and synchronization licenses) with rights holders, publishers, and record labels.
- Manage music budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
- Collaborate closely with directors, producers, editors, and sound designers to integrate music seamlessly into projects.
- Research new and emerging artists, tracks, and musical trends to maintain a diverse and current music library.
- Oversee all music-related legal documentation and ensure compliance with copyright and intellectual property laws.
- Provide creative input and strategic advice on all aspects of music usage throughout the production lifecycle.
- Maintain strong relationships with artists, composers, music libraries, and industry contacts.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Music Supervisor or similar role in the entertainment, advertising, or media industry.
- In-depth knowledge of music licensing, copyright, and publishing laws.
- Extensive musical knowledge across multiple genres, eras, and global markets.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
