Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the configuration and deployment of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting to identify and resolve connectivity issues under supervision.
- Document network configurations, changes, and procedures accurately and consistently.
- Monitor network performance and assist with routine health checks and capacity planning tasks.
- Collaborate with senior network engineers and other IT teams to ensure network reliability and security.
- Maintain inventory of network hardware and software licenses.
- Participate in project-based work, contributing to network upgrade and expansion initiatives.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
- Familiarity with network hardware (routers, switches) from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in using productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent.
- Experience with network monitoring tools.
- Previous experience in a help desk or IT support role.
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
