TELUS Communications is seeking a motivated Network Configuration Aide to join our team in Downtown Calgary. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the configuration and deployment of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting to identify and resolve connectivity issues under supervision.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and procedures accurately and consistently.
  • Monitor network performance and assist with routine health checks and capacity planning tasks.
  • Collaborate with senior network engineers and other IT teams to ensure network reliability and security.
  • Maintain inventory of network hardware and software licenses.
  • Participate in project-based work, contributing to network upgrade and expansion initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols.
  • Familiarity with network hardware (routers, switches) from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in using productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools.
  • Previous experience in a help desk or IT support role.
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
