Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support for network-related inquiries and incidents, diagnosing issues remotely.
  • Monitor network performance and system alerts, identifying potential problems proactively to prevent service disruptions.
  • Assist with basic network device configurations, upgrades, and routine maintenance tasks under supervision.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues for internal users and external clients, guiding them through resolution steps.
  • Document all incidents, resolutions, and procedures accurately within the ticketing system and knowledge base.
  • Escalate complex network problems to senior network engineers or specialized teams when necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery and problem resolution.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Cogeco's network infrastructure, services, and evolving technologies.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN).
  • Familiarity with common network hardware (routers, switches, modems).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and tools.
  • A dedicated home office setup with a reliable internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Entry-level technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA IT Fundamentals+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA).
  • Prior experience in a technical support, help desk, or customer service role.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
