Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Network Support Technician to join our growing technical team in Kingston, Ontario. As an Entry-Level Network Support Technician, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our clients’ network infrastructure, providing crucial front-line support, and contributing to a stable IT environment.

In this role, you will work closely with experienced network engineers and IT professionals, gaining invaluable hands-on experience across a variety of networking technologies and systems. You’ll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving basic network connectivity issues, assisting with hardware and software installations, and maintaining essential network documentation. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support for network-related issues, including connectivity, hardware, and software problems.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and software.
  • Monitor network performance and availability, identifying potential issues and reporting anomalies.
  • Troubleshoot basic TCP/IP issues, DNS problems, and VPN connectivity for end-users.
  • Maintain accurate records of network configurations, incidents, and resolutions in our ticketing system.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to resolve complex network problems and learn advanced techniques.
  • Respond to service requests and incidents in a timely and professional manner, ensuring high client satisfaction.
  • Assist with network cabling, patching, and inventory management.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance networking knowledge and skills.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing, switching).
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic command-line interfaces.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • High level of initiative and a strong desire to learn and grow in IT.
