Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Network Support Technician to bolster our IT operations in Ehrenfeld, Cologne. As a Network Support Technician, you will be the frontline support for all network-related incidents, playing a crucial role in maintaining seamless connectivity and optimal performance for our internal systems and users. You will engage in a wide array of tasks, from routine maintenance and monitoring to complex troubleshooting and implementation of new network solutions. This role demands a strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software, coupled with excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to providing outstanding technical support. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level support for all network-related issues, including LAN/WAN connectivity, Wi-Fi, VPN, and firewall problems.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize system uptime and efficiency.
  • Perform routine network maintenance, upgrades, and configuration changes to routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software network problems, including cabling, network interface cards, and network operating systems.
  • Assist in the implementation of network security measures and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for internal knowledge base.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members on projects involving network infrastructure development and deployment.
  • Respond to service requests and incident reports in a timely and professional manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for critical network issues outside of regular business hours, as needed.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in network support or a similar IT role.
  • Proven experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
  • Familiarity with network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for network connectivity and performance issues.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, JNCIA).
  • Experience with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency in German is a plus.
  • Prior experience with ITIL frameworks.
