Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor network performance and availability, promptly identifying and reporting anomalies or outages.
  • Respond to and assist in the initial troubleshooting of network alerts, incidents, and performance degradation issues.
  • Perform basic diagnostic tests and data collection to aid senior engineers in resolving complex network problems.
  • Assist with routine network maintenance tasks, including device configurations, software updates, and system reboots under guidance.
  • Document network changes, incidents, resolutions, and operational procedures accurately and thoroughly.
  • Learn and apply fundamental networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing protocols, switching, and firewalls.
  • Collaborate effectively with senior network engineers, IT support teams, and other departments to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Actively participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills.
  • Provide basic technical support and guidance to internal teams regarding network connectivity and services.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and/or Linux.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote work environment.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving network environments.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, or a related field.
  • Relevant entry-level IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA Entry-level).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Previous experience in a help desk, technical support, or IT internship role.
