Food For The Poor Jamaica is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Field Outreach Worker to join our team in Smithfield, Savanna-la-Mar. As a Field Outreach Worker, you will be the vital link between Food For The Poor Jamaica and the communities we serve. You will spend your days connecting directly with residents, attentively listening to their stories, understanding their unique needs, and helping to facilitate the delivery of our vital programs that bring real hope and tangible relief. This role involves significant time in the field, working directly with families and individuals in diverse settings, conducting comprehensive needs assessments, and gathering crucial information that helps us tailor our assistance effectively and sustainably. You will play a key role in organizing community meetings, workshops, and awareness campaigns, distributing essential aid, and providing practical support for various community development projects, ranging from housing initiatives and sanitation improvements to educational programs and livelihood support. This position requires a compassionate individual with excellent interpersonal skills, remarkable resilience, and a strong, unwavering commitment to our core values of service, integrity, and compassion. No prior extensive experience in NGO work is required; we are looking for someone with the right attitude, a genuine willingness to learn, adapt, and grow with us as we strive to uplift communities across Jamaica. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular field visits to designated communities in Smithfield, Savanna-la-Mar and surrounding areas to engage with residents.
- Assist in identifying and assessing the needs of vulnerable individuals and families through surveys and direct interaction.
- Support the planning and execution of community development programs and aid distribution initiatives.
- Facilitate communication between community members and the Food For The Poor Jamaica office.
- Collect and accurately record data related to program beneficiaries, impact, and community feedback.
- Participate in community meetings, workshops, and awareness campaigns to promote the organization's mission and services.
- Maintain detailed records of field activities, observations, and progress reports.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with community leaders, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
- Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Provide logistical support for field-based activities as needed.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous volunteer experience in community outreach or social work.
- Familiarity with the Smithfield, Savanna-la-Mar community and local culture.

- Ability to understand and speak local dialects/patois effectively.
