As a Nursery Nurse, you will be instrumental in creating a stimulating, safe, and nurturing environment where children aged 0-5 can flourish. Your day will involve planning and delivering engaging educational activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, fostering children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework.
- Observe, assess, and record children's development and progress.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for all children.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Act as a key person for a group of children, addressing their individual needs.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Support children's personal care routines, including feeding, changing, and sleeping.
- Promote inclusion and diversity within the nursery setting.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Proven experience working in an early years setting (Nursery/Preschool).
- Strong understanding and practical application of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to complete).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a key person.
- Additional training in special educational needs (SEN) or safeguarding.
- Knowledge of other languages relevant to the local community.
