Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Practitioners to join our thriving early years team in Central Simi, Simi Valley. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be instrumental in delivering our play-based curriculum, ensuring each child receives personalized attention and support tailored to their individual needs and developmental stages. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with parents/guardians.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in your care, adhering to all safeguarding and nursery policies and procedures.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration and independent play.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of care and education, contributing positively to team meetings and training.
- Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and hygiene practices, ensuring a smooth and consistent experience for children.
- Support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), working with external agencies where necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe play area and learning space, conducting regular checks of equipment and resources.
Required Skills
- Proven experience working with children aged 0-5 in an early years setting.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development theories and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute engaging educational activities.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Relevant Early Years Educator (EYE) qualifications or equivalent.
- Knowledge of local early years frameworks and regulations.
- Experience with child observation and assessment tools.
