As an Off Licence Clerk, you’ll be the face of Career.zycto, playing a crucial role in ensuring our customers have a pleasant and compliant shopping experience. You’ll gain hands-on experience in various aspects of retail, from direct customer interaction and sales to stock management and maintaining a tidy, inviting store environment. This position offers comprehensive on-the-job training, covering everything from product knowledge and point-of-sale operations to age verification procedures and responsible service guidelines. Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service, assisting with product selection and inquiries.
- Process sales transactions accurately using our point-of-sale (POS) system, handling cash and card payments.
- Verify customer identification to ensure legal age requirements are met for all alcohol and age-restricted product sales.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and organising merchandise, ensuring shelves are well-presented and fully stocked.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the store, including shelving, floors, and counter areas.
- Monitor stock levels and report any discrepancies or low stock items to management.
- Adhere strictly to all licensing laws and company policies regarding the sale of alcohol.
- Open and close the store as required, following established procedures.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful working environment, collaborating effectively with team members.
Required Skills
- Must be 18 years of age or older (due to legal requirements for selling alcohol).
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
