Job Description

Are you looking for a fulfilling way to spend your summer, gaining invaluable experience and making a real impact on young lives? Career.zycto is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Summer Playscheme Leader in the heart of St Pauls, Bristol. This role is specifically designed for individuals with *no prior professional experience* in childcare, making it perfect for students, recent graduates, or anyone looking to kickstart a career in education, youth work, or community services. We believe that passion, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn are far more important than a long CV.

As a Summer Playscheme Leader, you will be at the forefront of creating a joyful, safe, and stimulating environment for children aged 5-12 years during their school holidays. Your main goal will be to inspire creativity, encourage teamwork, and facilitate fun-filled activities that leave a lasting positive impression. Imagine leading exciting craft sessions, organising outdoor games, helping with storytelling, and supervising trips to local parks, all while ensuring the well-being and safety of every child in your care. This role provides a unique chance to observe child development first-hand, practice effective communication, and develop leadership skills in a real-world setting.

We understand that everyone starts somewhere, which is why we are committed to providing comprehensive training, ongoing support, and a collaborative team atmosphere to help you thrive. You’ll learn essential skills in child supervision, activity planning, group management, basic first aid – all crucial for any future career path involving young people. Our seasoned playscheme coordinators will be there to guide you every step of the way, offering mentorship and practical advice as you grow into the role. This isn’t just a summer job; it’s an opportunity to discover your passion, build confidence, and contribute meaningfully to the local St Pauls community.

We pride ourselves on offering a flexible schedule that can accommodate various commitments, ensuring you can balance work with your studies or other personal goals. Whether you’re available for a few days a week or prefer a more structured full-time arrangement during the summer weeks, we are keen to hear from you. If you’re passionate about working with children, possess a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and are eager to learn, we encourage you to apply. Join Career.zycto and become a vital part of a summer programme that children and their families will remember fondly for years to come!
