Key Responsibilities
- Conduct extensive legal research using various databases and resources to support ongoing cases.
- Prepare and organize all necessary documentation for court filings, hearings, and trials.
- Draft legal documents, including but not limited to, pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery requests under attorney supervision.
- Assist in the preparation of witness and client interviews, compiling relevant information and statements.
- Manage and maintain complex case files, ensuring all information is current, accurate, and easily accessible.
- Liaise with clients, court personnel, and external parties as required, maintaining professional communication.
- Summarize depositions, interrogatories, and other discovery responses.
- Assist attorneys in court during trials and hearings as needed, managing documents and logistics.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all court deadlines and procedural rules.
- Proofread and edit legal documents for accuracy, grammar, and adherence to legal formatting standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Paralegal, legal assistant, or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in legal research methodologies and tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work produced.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Solid understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or degree from an ABA-approved program (or equivalent UK qualification).
