Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using various databases and resources to support case development.
- Assist in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery requests.
- Organise and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Prepare trial binders, exhibits, witness lists, and other materials for court appearances.
- Liaise with clients, witnesses, and external counsel as required, maintaining professional communication.
- Summarise depositions, interrogatories, and other legal documents.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and meetings.
- Manage deadlines and calendars, ensuring all critical dates are met.
- Review and analyse factual information and legal documents for relevance and completeness.
- Provide administrative support to the legal team as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Paralegal, specifically in litigation or court preparation.
- Strong legal research skills with proficiency in legal databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively, and meet strict deadlines.
- High level of professionalism and ethical conduct.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Criminology, or related field.
- Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution.
