Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal specializing in Court Preparation & Research to join our thriving legal team in Sefton Park, Liverpool. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive support to our solicitors and barristers, ensuring all cases are meticulously prepared for court proceedings. You will be instrumental in the litigation process, from initial case assessment through to trial, by conducting thorough legal research, drafting critical documents, and managing case files with precision. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using various databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw) to support ongoing cases, identify relevant precedents, statutes, and legal articles.
  • Draft, proofread, and review a wide array of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and strict adherence to court rules and deadlines.
  • Assist with the meticulous preparation of court bundles, trial exhibits, witness statements, and all other documentation required for hearings, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Manage and organize extensive physical and electronic case files, maintaining robust document control systems to ensure all materials are easily accessible, up-to-date, and compliant.
  • Liaise effectively and professionally with clients, witnesses, barristers' chambers, and external agencies to gather essential information, schedule appointments, and coordinate logistics.
  • Summarize depositions, interrogatories, expert reports, and other discovery materials, highlighting pertinent information and key findings for the legal team's strategic review.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism in all client, witness, and case-related communications and documentation.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, billing support, and general office management as required to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of legal services.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Paralegal, particularly in litigation or court preparation.
  • Exceptional legal research skills, proficient with legal databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
  • Strong drafting and proofreading abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management software.
  • Solid understanding of civil procedure and court rules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paralegal qualification or degree in Law.
  • Experience with electronic document management systems.
  • Familiarity with local Liverpool court procedures.
