Career.zycto is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Paralegal specializing in Document Preparation to join our thriving legal support team in Hurlingham, Nairobi. This pivotal role requires an individual with a keen eye for accuracy, a solid understanding of legal terminology and procedures, and the ability to manage a high volume of legal documentation efficiently.
As a Paralegal Document Preparation specialist, you will be instrumental in supporting our legal professionals across various practice areas. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around the meticulous drafting, review, organization, and maintenance of critical legal documents. This includes, but is not limited to, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, corporate filings, discovery responses, and correspondence. Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, agreements, affidavits, and corporate resolutions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specific legal requirements.
- Review, proofread, and format legal documents for grammatical correctness, factual accuracy, completeness, and proper citation.
- Organize and maintain comprehensive physical and digital case files, ensuring easy accessibility and compliance with record-keeping protocols.
- Conduct legal research using various databases and resources to support the drafting and content of legal documents.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including compiling exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Manage document management systems, ensuring all documents are correctly categorized, indexed, and stored.
- Ensure all document preparation and filing adheres to relevant court rules, regulatory requirements, and internal company policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel as directed, regarding document status and procedural matters.
- Support administrative tasks related to legal documentation as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in legal document drafting and preparation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all written work.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal research platforms.
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- Certification from a recognized paralegal program.
- Familiarity with the Kenyan legal system and court procedures.
- Experience with electronic filing systems (e-filing).
- Fluency in Swahili is an added advantage.
