As a Part-Time Waitress/Waiter, you will be a key ambassador for the Java House brand, often being the first and last point of contact for our valued customers. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome guests upon their arrival, seating them comfortably.
- Present menus and provide detailed information on specials, portion sizes, and allergens.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders using our POS system, ensuring all special requests are noted.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, checking on guests periodically to ensure satisfaction.
- Clear tables efficiently and prepare them for the next guests, maintaining a clean and organized dining area.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns with patience and professionalism, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Process payments accurately, handle cash and credit card transactions, and issue receipts.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service flow.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards and regulations.
- Assist in maintaining the overall cleanliness and inviting ambiance of the restaurant.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or hospitality role.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
- Positive attitude and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and processing orders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Waitress/Waiter in a restaurant or café setting.
- Knowledge of POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Fluency in Swahili and English is highly advantageous.
