Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Technician (PCT) for immediate hire to join our dynamic healthcare team in Berwyn, College Park. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide essential direct patient care, supporting nurses and other medical professionals in delivering high-quality, patient-centered services. As a PCT, you will be on the front lines, playing a critical role in patient comfort, safety, and recovery. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Obtain and record vital signs, intake and output, and document observations in patient charts accurately and promptly.
  • Perform phlebotomy, EKG, and other technical procedures as delegated by the Registered Nurse (RN) and within scope of practice.
  • Assist nurses with patient procedures, examinations, and treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment, including changing linens and tidying rooms.
  • Respond to patient call lights and requests in a timely and courteous manner, addressing needs or escalating to nursing staff.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient status and concerns.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including infection control practices.
  • Transport patients to and from various departments as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort during transit.

Required Skills

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or equivalent PCT training.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused demeanor.
  • Ability to lift and reposition patients safely.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Previous experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
  • Phlebotomy and EKG certification.
