As a Payroll Administrator at Career.zycto, you will be at the heart of our financial operations, playing a critical role in maintaining employee satisfaction and upholding our reputation for meticulous service. You will be responsible for processing weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls, handling all associated calculations including tax, National Insurance, pensions, statutory sick pay, and maternity/paternity pay. Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls accurately and on time for multiple clients.
- Calculate and process statutory deductions including PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, SSP, SMP, SPP, and student loans.
- Reconcile payroll data, ensuring accuracy and resolving any discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and submit all statutory returns, including HMRC submissions and pension reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including new starters, leavers, and changes to terms and conditions.
- Handle payroll queries from employees and clients, providing clear and concise information.
- Prepare detailed payroll reports for management and client review.
- Stay abreast of changes in UK payroll legislation and ensure compliance.
- Assist with year-end payroll processing, including P60s and P11Ds.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator (minimum 3 years).
- Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll, Iris).
- Excellent data entry skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPP qualification or working towards it.
- Experience with multiple payroll cycles and client payrolls.
- Knowledge of HR systems integration with payroll.
- Experience in a recruitment or agency environment.
