Key Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications, ensuring patient safety and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
- Provide expert advice and counseling to patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and health conditions.
- Conduct thorough medication reviews, identifying and resolving drug-related problems.
- Manage and maintain pharmacy stock levels, ensuring efficient inventory control and secure storage of medicines.
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and support staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Participate in health promotion initiatives and public health campaigns within the community.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Stay updated with the latest pharmaceutical developments, clinical guidelines, and regulatory changes.
- Contribute to continuous service improvement and operational efficiency within the pharmacy.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree.
- Full registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or eligibility for immediate registration upon arrival.
- Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience as a practicing Pharmacist.
- Demonstrable strong clinical knowledge and judgment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centric approach.
- Proven ability to work accurately, efficiently, and meticulously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy dispensing systems and electronic patient records.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualifications or certifications in a specialized area of pharmacy (e.g., clinical pharmacy, independent prescribing).
- Experience working in a community pharmacy setting within the UK or a similar regulatory environment.
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to the local community.
- Experience with medication management systems specific to Northern Ireland healthcare.
