Job Description

This role is for an experienced Production Team Leader to join a dynamic and forward-thinking manufacturing client in North Belfast, a company renowned for its commitment to quality, efficiency, and employee development. As a pivotal member of the operations team, you will be instrumental in overseeing daily production activities, ensuring targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a production team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly output targets.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and ensure products meet specified standards.
  • Manage team performance, including setting objectives, conducting appraisals, and identifying training needs.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Quality, Maintenance, Logistics) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and present production reports, analysing data to inform decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Oversee inventory control for raw materials and finished goods within the production area.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Production Team Leader or similar supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in production planning and scheduling.
  • Solid knowledge of health, safety, and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).
  • Experience with automated production systems.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant industry standards.
