Job Description
This role is for an experienced Production Team Leader to join a dynamic and forward-thinking manufacturing client in North Belfast, a company renowned for its commitment to quality, efficiency, and employee development. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a production team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly output targets.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Conduct regular quality checks and ensure products meet specified standards.
- Manage team performance, including setting objectives, conducting appraisals, and identifying training needs.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Quality, Maintenance, Logistics) to ensure smooth operations.
- Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and present production reports, analysing data to inform decision-making.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Oversee inventory control for raw materials and finished goods within the production area.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Production Team Leader or similar supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in production planning and scheduling.
- Solid knowledge of health, safety, and quality standards in a manufacturing setting.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).
- Experience with automated production systems.
- First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant industry standards.
