Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist customers upon their arrival, identifying their needs promptly.
- Accurately process all sales transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash/card payments.
- Provide basic information and guidance to customers regarding non-prescription products and general health queries.
- Maintain an impeccably clean, organized, and inviting sales floor, product display shelves, and counter areas.
- Actively participate in stocking shelves, arranging products, monitoring expiry dates, and assisting with inventory control.
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally, respond to general inquiries, and accurately direct complex questions to the supervising pharmacist.
- Strictly adhere to all established pharmacy policies, operational procedures, and relevant health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and other team members to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the pharmacy.
- Address customer complaints and resolve issues with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-oriented approach.
- Proactively inform customers about ongoing promotions, special offers, and newly arrived products.
- Assist with receiving and checking deliveries, ensuring accuracy and proper storage of goods.
Required Skills
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency in computer usage, particularly with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Strong verbal communication skills in both Swahili and English.
- Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- High degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated punctuality, reliability, and strong work ethic.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 15 kg).
Preferred Qualifications

- Foundational knowledge of basic health products, over-the-counter medications, and common health conditions.
- Completion of secondary school education (Form IV certificate or equivalent).
- Familiarity with basic inventory management practices and stock rotation principles.
