Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physiotherapist Assistant to join our growing team in Ile-Epo, Alimosho. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed Physiotherapists in the delivery of patient care, including setting up and preparing treatment areas and equipment.
  • Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises and activities, demonstrating proper techniques and providing encouragement.
  • Monitor patients' progress and responses to therapy, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising Physiotherapist.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment notes, progress reports, and attendance logs.
  • Ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and proper functioning of all physiotherapy equipment and treatment spaces.
  • Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and adaptive techniques as instructed by the Physiotherapist.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining inventory of supplies.
  • Adhere strictly to all clinic policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Diploma or Certificate in Physiotherapy Assisting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1.5 years (18 months) of direct experience in a clinical or rehabilitation setting.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and common musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and build rapport with patients.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to assist patients with mobility and perform required duties.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping and scheduling.
  • A strong commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical healthcare practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with diverse patient populations.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and exercise equipment.
  • Ability to speak local languages (e.g., Yoruba) in addition to English.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
