Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination and monitoring of vessel movements within the port area, under supervision.
- Support the loading and unloading operations of cargo, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to cargo manifests, vessel arrivals, and departures.
- Liaise with various port departments and external stakeholders (e.g., shipping agents, customs) to facilitate smooth operations.
- Assist in conducting routine inspections of port equipment and facilities, reporting any discrepancies or maintenance needs.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the port premises.
- Perform general administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and report generation as required.
- Actively participate in training programs and continuous learning initiatives to enhance knowledge of port operations.
Required Skills
- Secondary School Certificate (Form IV or VI)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili
