The Printing Centre, a leader in Jamaica’s printing industry, is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Printing Press Assistant to join our dynamic team in Liguanea, Kingston. As a Printing Press Assistant, you will play a vital supporting role in the operation of our printing presses. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist press operators in setting up and operating various printing presses (offset, digital, etc.).
  • Load paper, ink, and other materials onto the printing presses efficiently and safely.
  • Monitor print quality throughout the production run, identifying and reporting any defects or inconsistencies.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks on printing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist with mixing and preparing inks according to job specifications.
  • Unload finished printed materials and prepare them for subsequent finishing processes or packaging.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Support the general production team with tasks such as collating, binding, cutting, and packing when required.
  • Learn and adhere to all company policies and procedures, including quality control standards.
  • Communicate effectively with press operators and other team members to ensure smooth workflow.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn about printing machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move materials (up to 50 lbs).
  • Excellent reliability and punctuality.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with printing processes or graphic arts.
  • Vocational training or certification in a related field.
  • Experience operating machinery or equipment.
