Job Description
We are seeking a highly professional and experienced Private Driver Chauffeur to join our esteemed team at Emerald Zanzibar Resort & Spa. This pivotal role involves providing safe, reliable, and comfortable transportation services to our discerning guests, ensuring their journeys to and from the resort, as well as any requested excursions, are executed with the utmost discretion and efficiency. As a Private Driver Chauffeur, you will be the first and last point of contact for many of our guests, playing a crucial role in shaping their overall experience. Your responsibilities will extend beyond simply driving, encompassing a commitment to impeccable vehicle maintenance, superior customer service, and a deep knowledge of Zanzibar’s roads and attractions. We are looking for an individual who embodies professionalism, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility, capable of maintaining the highest standards of safety and service synonymous with a luxury 5-star resort. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and punctually transport guests to and from various destinations, including airports, excursions, and local attractions, adhering to scheduled timings.
- Maintain the highest standards of vehicle cleanliness, conducting daily checks of the interior and exterior to ensure immaculate presentation.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks (e.g., fuel, oil, tire pressure, water) and arrange for servicing or repairs as needed, reporting any issues promptly.
- Assist guests with luggage handling and provide courteous assistance upon entry and exit from the vehicle.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of local roads, traffic patterns, and alternative routes to ensure efficient travel.
- Uphold strict confidentiality and discretion regarding guest information and itineraries.
- Adhere to all local traffic laws and safety regulations rigorously.
- Provide basic information about local sights, culture, and attractions upon guest request.
- Maintain accurate records of journeys, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
- Ensure a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere for guests during transit, adjusting climate control and music preferences as appropriate.
Required Skills
- Valid Tanzanian driving license (Class B/D)
- Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a hospitality or private chauffeur role.
- Excellent knowledge of Zanzibar's geography, roads, and key tourist destinations.
- Impeccable driving record with no major accidents or violations.
- Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written).
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and a polished appearance.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
- Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience driving luxury vehicles.
- Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Swahili, Italian, French, German).
- Certification in defensive driving or first aid.
- Prior experience working in a 5-star hotel or resort environment.
- Familiarity with GPS and navigation systems.
