Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and cook daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for the family, considering dietary restrictions, preferences, and special occasions.
- Develop diverse and exciting weekly/monthly menus that balance nutrition, taste, and variety.
- Manage grocery shopping, ensuring the purchase of fresh, high-quality ingredients while adhering to a budget.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, pantry, and all cooking equipment.
- Monitor food inventory, minimize waste, and ensure proper storage of all food items.
- Adapt cooking styles to accommodate various cuisines (e.g., local Kenyan, continental, Asian) as requested by the family.
- Serve meals professionally and assist with table setting as required.
- Adhere strictly to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Handle kitchen-related errands and special requests with discretion and efficiency.
- Manage kitchen supplies, ordering and replenishing as needed.
- Collaborate discreetly with other household staff (if any) to ensure smooth household operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Cook in a private household, hotel, or high-end restaurant.
- Exceptional culinary skills with a diverse repertoire of cuisines.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
