Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Highlands, Curepipe. This pivotal role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of various projects, from initial concept and planning to meticulous execution and successful delivery. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in driving key strategic initiatives across different departments, including IT, product development, and operational efficiency, within the fast-paced financial services sector. You will be responsible for defining project scope, setting clear objectives, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring high-quality outcomes that align with our business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning sessions and define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including detailed timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless and efficient execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques, and communicate impacts effectively.
  • Perform comprehensive risk management to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing robust contingency plans.
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals using appropriate project management tools.
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed, providing clear, concise, and timely updates on project status.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring all project knowledge is captured and accessible.
  • Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, ensuring alignment, transparency, and timely dissemination of information.
  • Oversee the implementation of new systems, products, or processes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, motivating project teams to achieve objectives and celebrating successes.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and best practices for future projects.

Required Skills

  • Proven working experience (minimum 4 years) as a project manager, preferably in a financial services or banking environment.
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC) and web technologies.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, capable of bridging technical and business teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English (French proficiency is a significant advantage).
  • Solid organizational skills including meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a proactive approach to challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification is a strong asset.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and leading Agile teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and data privacy standards within the Mauritian financial sector.
  • Experience with business process re-engineering projects.
