Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead our critical ‘UK Sponsorship Program’ based in Indianapolis. This unique and strategic role is integral to strengthening our international partnerships and leveraging global talent pipelines within the Rolls-Royce ecosystem. The UK Sponsorship Program is designed to facilitate and manage key initiatives and talent exchanges between our US operations and our counterparts in the United Kingdom, ensuring seamless collaboration on strategic projects, technology transfer, and knowledge sharing. This program is vital for our continued innovation and growth, directly impacting our ability to develop cutting-edge solutions.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end management of various projects under this program. This encompasses defining project scope, developing detailed project plans, managing budgets, allocating resources, and overseeing project execution from initiation to closure. A significant aspect of this role involves cross-functional and cross-cultural communication, working closely with stakeholders in both the US and the UK. You will be the primary point of contact for program participants and leadership, ensuring all objectives are met within established timelines and financial parameters. The successful candidate will navigate complex logistical and regulatory landscapes, coordinating with legal, HR, and technical teams to ensure compliance and smooth operations. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of multiple projects under the 'UK Sponsorship Program', ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Manage and coordinate cross-functional and international teams, fostering effective communication and collaboration between US and UK stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies, international regulations, and legal requirements related to talent mobility and program operations.
- Facilitate regular communication and reporting to senior leadership and key stakeholders on program status, achievements, and challenges.
- Oversee financial aspects of projects within the program, including budget tracking, forecasting, and expenditure control.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal departments (HR, Legal, Engineering, Finance) and external partners.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the program to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepare and present project reviews, status updates, and post-mortem analyses to evaluate success and identify lessons learned.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
- Demonstrated experience working on international projects or programs, particularly with UK entities or partners.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing across diverse cultures and organizational levels.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an emphasis on proactive risk identification and mitigation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Understanding of budget management and financial forecasting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification.
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
