Key Responsibilities
- Assist lawyers with the preparation and review of legal documents, including contracts, deeds, and closing statements.
- Conduct preliminary legal research and gather necessary information pertaining to property titles, encumbrances, and land records.
- Manage and organize client files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and easily accessible.
- Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate meetings with clients, real estate agents, and other parties.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on case status and responding to inquiries under attorney supervision.
- Handle general administrative tasks, such as drafting correspondence, filing, scanning, and managing office supplies.
- Assist with the preparation for property closings, ensuring all necessary paperwork is in order.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information and firm matters.
- Learn and apply knowledge of relevant property laws, regulations, and legal procedures in Mozambique.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; a college diploma in a related field is a strong asset.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new legal concepts and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous administrative or office experience, ideally within a professional services environment.
