Job Description
Are you a hands-on individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining beautiful spaces? Promised Land Lodge in Kizimkazi, Makunduchi, is seeking a dedicated and energetic Part-Time Property Maintenance Laborer to join our friendly team. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in preserving the charm, safety, and functionality of our unique eco-lodge, ensuring a consistently high standard of guest experience. You will report to the Lodge Manager and work closely with other team members to ensure all maintenance needs are addressed promptly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs to buildings, furniture, and fixtures.
- Conduct general carpentry, painting, and basic plumbing repairs as needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of outdoor areas, gardens, pathways, and beach access points.
- Assist with landscaping and gardening duties, including watering plants, weeding, and trimming.
- Inspect property regularly for damage or potential hazards and report findings to management.
- Operate and maintain basic tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist skilled technicians with more complex repairs and projects when required.
- Ensure all work areas are kept tidy, organized, and safe for guests and staff.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Support the team with any ad-hoc tasks related to property upkeep and guest satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of general repairs (e.g., carpentry, painting, plumbing).
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in property maintenance, hospitality, or a similar hands-on role.
