Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies to enhance client reputation and brand visibility.
  • Draft compelling press releases, media advisories, speeches, and other PR materials.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and key influencers.
  • Monitor media coverage, analyze PR campaign effectiveness, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Manage crisis communication effectively, providing timely and accurate responses.
  • Organize and coordinate press conferences, media briefings, and public events.
  • Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to ensure integrated communication efforts.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for thought leadership, awards, and speaking engagements.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, media landscape changes, and best practices in PR.
  • Provide strategic communication advice to clients and internal stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in public relations, corporate communications, or media relations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong media relations network and demonstrated ability to secure positive media coverage.
  • Proficiency in developing and executing strategic communication plans.
  • Excellent crisis management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse clients or within an agency setting.
  • Familiarity with PR measurement tools and media monitoring platforms.
  • Fluency in Swahili is an added advantage.
