Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Tester to join our growing team in Nyanga. As a QA Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our diverse range of software applications, mobile services, and digital platforms. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and test cases, identifying and documenting bugs, and working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for software applications, mobile apps, and web platforms.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using bug tracking systems.
- Collaborate closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and review meetings, providing valuable input on quality aspects.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure that they do not introduce new issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts where applicable.
- Provide clear and concise status updates and reports to the project team and management.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging QA technologies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Proficiency in identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs using defect management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
- Familiarity with various testing types (functional, regression, integration, performance, UAT).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cypress).
- Knowledge of SQL and database testing.
- Experience with API testing (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent.
