Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to verify product conformity.
- Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including acceptance, rejection, and deviation from specifications.
- Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating corrective and preventive actions as required.
- Collaborate with production personnel to address quality issues and ensure proper implementation of quality control procedures.
- Conduct first-article inspections and in-process audits to maintain consistent quality throughout the manufacturing cycle.
- Assist in the development and refinement of quality inspection plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in root cause analysis for identified defects and support the implementation of effective solutions.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in quality control or assurance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma basics).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for data entry and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production setting.
- Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in a relevant field (e.g., Quality Assurance, Engineering Technology).
- Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) operation.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards or similar quality management systems.
