Career.zycto is seeking a skilled and dedicated Quarry Plant Operator to join our client’s operations in Innenstadt, Erlangen. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced operator to take a pivotal role in the production of essential aggregates that form the backbone of modern infrastructure. As a Quarry Plant Operator, you will be instrumental in overseeing the efficient and safe operation of various heavy machinery and processing equipment within our quarry environment. Your daily tasks will involve managing crushers, screens, conveyors, and loaders, ensuring a continuous and high-quality output of materials such as gravel, sand, and crushed stone.
We are looking for an individual who possesses a deep understanding of quarry operations, from material extraction to final product stockpiling. You will be responsible for monitoring the performance of the plant, conducting routine inspections, and performing minor maintenance and troubleshooting to prevent downtime. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor heavy quarry plant machinery, including crushers, screens, conveyors, wheel loaders, and excavators, to process raw materials efficiently.
- Conduct daily pre-start checks, routine inspections, and minor maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential faults.
- Monitor material quality and aggregate output, making necessary adjustments to machinery settings to meet specified grading and quality standards.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, health regulations, and environmental policies, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Maintain accurate operational logs, production reports, and maintenance records.
- Manage the flow of materials through the plant, including feed rates and stockpiling, to ensure continuous and efficient production.
- Identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical and operational issues, coordinating with maintenance personnel for complex repairs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance teams, and fellow operators regarding plant status, production issues, and safety concerns.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Quarry Plant Operator or similar heavy equipment operation role.
- Proficiency in operating various quarry machinery (e.g., crushers, screens, loaders, excavators).
- Strong understanding of quarry operations, material processing, and aggregate production techniques.
- Excellent adherence to safety procedures, environmental regulations, and operational guidelines.
- Mechanical aptitude for performing routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding outdoor industrial environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and relevant heavy equipment operator certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade qualification or certification in heavy equipment operation or plant mechanics.
- Experience with specific crushing and screening systems (e.g., Metso, Sandvik, Kleemann).
- First Aid certification.
- Fluency in German.
- Proven track record of safe work practices and a commitment to continuous improvement.
