Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and potentially MRI or ultrasound, following established protocols.
- Ensure accurate patient positioning, selection of appropriate imaging parameters, and operation of advanced radiography equipment.
- Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety regulations and practices for both patients and staff.
- Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and cooperation throughout the imaging process.
- Critically evaluate image quality, making adjustments as necessary to obtain optimal diagnostic results.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members to facilitate patient care.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and promptly report any malfunctions or service needs.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and documentation.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous professional development initiatives.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Radiography from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid professional licensure/registration to practice as a Radiographer in Nigeria.
- Proven technical proficiency across various imaging modalities (e.g., X-ray, CT).
- Strong understanding of radiological anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Excellent patient care skills, empathy, and ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality diagnostic images.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in using hospital information systems (HIS) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certification in specialized imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, Mammography).
- Experience with cutting-edge digital radiography and computed radiography systems.
- Fluency in additional local languages (e.g., Yoruba) relevant to the community.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
