You will work closely with artists, producers, and clients, providing essential technical support and troubleshooting to guarantee smooth, high-quality recordings. Key Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and operate recording equipment including microphones, preamps, mixers, DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro), and monitoring systems for various audio sessions.
- Conduct pre-session equipment checks, ensure all gear is in optimal working condition, and troubleshoot any technical issues promptly to prevent session delays.
- Provide comprehensive technical support during recording sessions, assisting artists and producers with microphone placement, headphone mixes, and general booth logistics.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on all recording studio equipment to extend lifespan and ensure peak performance and reliability.
- Manage and organize audio cables, accessories, and inventory within the recording booths and control room, ensuring a tidy and efficient workspace.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and technical issues for future reference and preventative measures.
- Assist with studio upgrades, installations, and system integrations as required to keep our facilities at the forefront of audio technology.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and professional recording environment at all times, upholding the highest standards of studio presentation.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in audio recording to continuously improve services and technical capabilities.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in operating professional audio recording equipment and software (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live).
- Strong understanding of signal flow, acoustics, microphone theory, and fundamental digital audio principles.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical hardware and software issues efficiently and effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail in equipment setup and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced creative environment with diverse teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, artists, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with various audio formats and their applications across different media platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related technical field.
- Experience with studio build-outs, acoustic treatment, or audio system integration projects.
- Knowledge of video production workflows, especially related to audio post-production for visual media.
- Ability to perform basic soldering and electronic repair for studio equipment.
