Job Description

This role demands a meticulous and enthusiastic individual dedicated to the art and science of sound recording. As a Full-Time Recording Studio Technician, you will be the backbone of our studio operations, ensuring all equipment is in peak condition, sessions run smoothly, and artists have an unparalleled creative environment. From setting up microphones for complex multi-instrumental sessions to troubleshooting technical glitches in real-time, your expertise will be crucial. We are seeking someone who not only possesses a strong technical foundation in audio engineering but also demonstrates excellent problem-solving abilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a calm demeanor under pressure.

You will be responsible for the daily setup, operation, and maintenance of our state-of-the-art recording equipment, including mixing consoles (both analog and digital), a diverse array of microphones, high-end preamps, outboard processing gear, and digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Ableton Live. This position requires a proactive approach to equipment care, including regular cleaning, calibration, firmware updates, and conducting minor repairs to ensure everything operates flawlessly. You’ll work closely with our sound engineers and producers, assisting with session preparation, including intricate patching, efficient signal routing, and ensuring optimal acoustical conditions for diverse projects. Beyond the technical aspects, you’ll play a vital role in client satisfaction, providing professional and friendly support, and helping to maintain a creative, comfortable, and inspiring atmosphere for all studio users, fostering a productive workflow.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of audio signal flow, studio acoustics, and a keen awareness of the latest recording technologies and trends. You should be adept at quickly diagnosing and resolving technical issues to prevent disruptions during critical recording, mixing, and mastering sessions, often under tight deadlines. This is more than just a maintenance role; it’s a dynamic opportunity to contribute directly to the sonic integrity of diverse projects, ranging from independent music production across various genres, to professional voice-overs for commercial spots, and high-quality podcast recordings. Your commitment to audio quality, your proactive approach to maintenance, and your genuine passion for sound will make a significant impact on our studio’s reputation and the ultimate success of our clients’ artistic endeavors. We offer a collaborative work environment where continuous learning and professional development are highly encouraged, allowing you to grow your skills alongside industry professionals.
