Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one peer support and mentorship to individuals in recovery.
  • Assist clients in developing and implementing personal recovery plans.
  • Facilitate group discussions and peer support meetings.
  • Educate clients on recovery principles, life skills, and healthy coping mechanisms.
  • Connect clients with community resources, including housing, employment, and healthcare services.
  • Document client progress and interactions accurately and confidentially.
  • Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the recovery system.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Participate in regular supervision, training, and team meetings.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical guidelines.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication.
  • A genuine desire to help others achieve sustained recovery.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lived experience with addiction recovery (personal or familial).
  • Certification as a Peer Recovery Coach (or willingness to obtain).
