Key Responsibilities
- Accurately select products from various warehouse locations, including shelves, racks, and bulk storage, using picking lists or RF scanner instructions to fulfill customer orders.
- Safely and efficiently operate various warehouse equipment such as manual and electric pallet jacks, and potentially forklifts, adhering strictly to safety regulations and operational guidelines.
- Perform thorough verification of product counts, item numbers, and quantities against order specifications to minimize discrepancies and ensure 100% accuracy in shipments.
- Pack and prepare selected orders for dispatch, ensuring appropriate packaging materials are used to prevent damage, and attaching correct shipping labels and necessary documentation.
- Maintain a meticulously clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the shift, actively participating in maintaining warehouse standards and adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct routine pre-shift inspections of equipment, including pallet jacks and other machinery, reporting any functional defects, maintenance requirements, or safety hazards promptly to supervision.
- Assist in inventory control activities, including cycle counting, stock rotation, and identifying damaged or expired products, to maintain accurate stock records.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow team members, shift supervisors, and other departments to ensure seamless workflow, troubleshoot issues, and collectively achieve daily productivity targets and operational goals.
- Handle all products with utmost care and attention to detail during the picking, packing, and staging processes to prevent damage and uphold product quality standards.
- Be available to work scheduled night shifts, which may include weekends and public holidays, demonstrating flexibility to meet the fluctuating operational demands of our distribution center.
Required Skills
- Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical stamina to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Order Selector or in a warehouse/distribution role.
- Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or other warehouse machinery (certification a plus).
- Familiarity with RF scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
