Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Red Seal Electrician for an immediate, full-time position in Brookfield, Gander. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical distribution systems, control systems, and associated electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and diagrams to determine wiring layouts and specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Conduct thorough inspections and testing of electrical systems and equipment to identify malfunctions and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently and effectively, utilizing a systematic approach to troubleshooting.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, company policies, and the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) at all times.
- Prepare accurate records and reports detailing work performed, materials used, and identified deficiencies.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices, fostering a positive learning and working environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper storage of tools and equipment.
Required Skills
- Valid Red Seal Electrician certification
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints
- Thorough knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in the electrical trade
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems and equipment
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with industrial control systems (PLCs, VFDs)
- Familiarity with fire alarm systems and emergency power generators
- Experience in commercial and/or industrial construction environments
- Additional safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection)
