Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Remote Database Cleansing and Verification Assistant to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the foundational data integrity of a major mining corporation from the comfort of your home. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of various critical databases, which underpin our operational and strategic initiatives. You will systematically review, clean, and verify data, identifying and correcting discrepancies, removing duplicate entries, and standardizing information across different platforms. Your work will directly impact the reliability of our reports, analyses, and ultimately, our business decisions. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
- Execute systematic data cleansing processes to identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies across multiple databases.
- Verify the authenticity and currency of existing data points through established procedures and cross-referencing.
- Remove duplicate records and merge information where necessary to ensure data uniqueness and coherence.
- Standardize data formats, nomenclature, and entry protocols to maintain uniformity across all datasets.
- Perform regular quality control checks on cleansed data to ensure adherence to company standards and guidelines.
- Document all data cleansing activities, including methodologies, changes made, and issues encountered.
- Collaborate with database administrators and departmental leads to understand data requirements and address specific cleansing needs.
- Generate reports on data quality, integrity issues, and progress made in cleansing efforts.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving data collection and entry processes to prevent future inaccuracies.
- Adhere strictly to data privacy and security policies while handling sensitive company information.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation)
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
