Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using online databases and other resources, summarizing findings for attorneys.
  • Organize and maintain physical and electronic case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
  • Assist with discovery tasks, including preparing interrogatories, requests for production, and summarizing depositions.
  • Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Liaise with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties, maintaining professional communication.
  • Prepare and file documents with various courts and administrative agencies, ensuring compliance with local rules.
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality and adhere to all ethical guidelines.
  • Utilize legal software and case management systems effectively for workflow optimization.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Familiarity with legal terminology and court procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies or a related field.

  • Prior experience in a remote legal support role.
  • Notary Public commission.
