Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis using various online databases and resources.
  • Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Manage and organize case files, electronic documents, and physical records, ensuring easy accessibility and compliance.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, trials, and client meetings.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, court dates, and discovery processes.
  • Prepare and process legal filings with courts and administrative agencies, ensuring adherence to procedural rules.
  • Summarize deposition transcripts, interrogatories, and other discovery responses.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and internal team members.
  • Assist with billing and expense report preparation as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of work.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced organizational and time management abilities.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and ethical guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies or a related field.
  • Experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, PracticePanther).
  • Familiarity with specific practice areas such as litigation, corporate law, or real estate.
  • Notary Public commission.
