In this vital role, you will be instrumental in the end-to-end processing of multiple client payrolls, ranging from small businesses to larger enterprises. You will handle all aspects of payroll administration, from data input and calculations to query resolution and reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls accurately and on time for a diverse client portfolio.
- Calculate and process statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP, and SHPP.
- Handle all new starters and leavers, including P45 processing and issuing.
- Manage and resolve payroll queries from employees and clients efficiently and professionally.
- Reconcile payroll data, ensuring all deductions, earnings, and net pay are correct.
- Prepare and submit RTI (Real Time Information) reports to HMRC.
- Assist with pension auto-enrolment administration and submissions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Generate payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years' proven experience in a payroll processing role within the UK.
- Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including tax, NICs, and statutory payments.
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll, BrightPay).
- Excellent numerical and data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities to meet strict deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level for data manipulation and analysis).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client and employee interaction.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification or working towards it.
- Experience with multiple payroll systems and high-volume processing.
- A relevant accounting or business administration qualification.
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) platforms.
